How to Create a Full Moon Ritual That Actually Works For You

Full moon energy is real — but your ritual doesn't need to be complicated. Here's a grounded, herbalism-based approach to the monthly reset.

The full moon has been a time of gathering, reflection, and release across virtually every human culture in history. Whether or not you believe in lunar energy, there's something undeniable about the pull of a full moon — and the psychological power of creating a monthly ritual around it.

A ritual is simply a repeated, intentional act. It doesn't need crystals, candles, or a specific belief system. What it needs is presence — a deliberate pause in an otherwise relentless schedule.

Here's how we approach the full moon at Albylasan Pure: with herbs, warmth, and intention.

Step 1 — Create space (10 minutes): Clear a small area. This is physical and symbolic — clearing the space you're in mirrors the clearing you're about to do internally. Light something. A candle, incense, whatever feels meaningful to you.

Step 2 — Brew your tea (10 minutes): Our Full Moon Ritual Kit includes a specific herbal blend for this moment — rose, hibiscus, red clover, and passionflower. Brew slowly. Hold the cup. This is not a functional act. It's a transition from doing to being.

Step 3 — Write and release (15–20 minutes): On paper (not a phone), answer two questions. What am I ready to release? What am I calling in? The full moon is traditionally a time of release — letting go of what no longer serves. The new moon is for planting. Use the full moon to clear.

Step 4 — The herbal bath (optional, 20–30 minutes): Draw a warm bath with our herbal bath salts — magnesium-rich, with lavender and rose. Magnesium absorbs through the skin and is profoundly calming to the nervous system. Let the water be the release.

Step 5 — Rest: Don't rush back to your phone. Sleep is when integration happens. The ritual's value isn't in the moment — it's in what your nervous system does with it over the days that follow.

You don't need to do all of this. Even step 2 alone — making and drinking tea with intention — is a ritual. Start there.
